We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nieves controls from within his opponent's guard. Hammer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Boone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Let's hope that Hammer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boone pulls Hammer in close to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammer working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. #T1# Hammer controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hammer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daniel Zigrand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Boone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Boone seems keen to control Zigrand's posture. Boone keeping full guard, as Zigrand tries to pass. Boone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fried moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Kentucky Fried seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carrillo slips a jab and a cross from Fried.
Carrillo seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Fried lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Fried throws a leg kick but Carrillo sees it coming and checks it nicely. Carrillo checks a low kick from Fried.
