Soda Popinski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Popinski lands a front kick. Peltonen takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Popinski lands a nice looking body kick. Peltonen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Popinski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Peltonen. A solid leg kick lands there for Popinski.
Popinski throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Peltonen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Popinski can pounce on him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Muhonen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hyde slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Suutari can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Patton controls the pace. Suutari avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. #SU# Patton stands up from Suutari's guard - Patton perhaps looking for a knockout. Suutari has a takedown stuffed. Patton throws a big counter combination but Suutari scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Suutari fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Brady Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jani Suutari. Suutari shoots in but no luck this time. #CL# Patton has managed to clinch.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Suutari not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patton is on top in guard.
