Temple thows a left - swing and a miss! Mnusk pivots, looking for a leg kick but Temple is out of range and Mnusk settles back down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Temple misses with a lunging right hand

#R1# Oliveira lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Betz walks into a stiff left hand from Oliveira.#CUT#It looks like Edmund Betz has been cut. Oliveira cracks Betz with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Betz tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Oliveira pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Betz is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

#R1# Boss shoots in looking for a takedown. Bottom tries to sprawl out of it but Boss keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bottom manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Boss fails with a takedown attempt. Boss shoots in for a takedown but Bottom shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rock Bottom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Final Boss. Bottom stuffs the takedown attempt from Boss. Boss gets slowly back to his feet. A solid leg kick lands there for Bottom.
Bottom looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bottom lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Boss backs up against the cage.
Rock Bottom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boss moves out of range of the strikes. Boss avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Boss with the counter takedown but Bottom avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bottom fails with an attempt to clinch.

Nolan taking some punishment here, with Magyar in his half guard. Nolan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Magyar is working away from the top position though. We've been informed that Chief has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Chief takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

#R1# Cormier tries to clinch up. Daniel Cormier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mallin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Cormier has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Cormier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mallin defends it nicely. Cormier looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cormier takes a body punch but keeps moving. Mallin takes a swing at Cormier's ribcage but misses. Cormier fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dexter Mallin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Cormier.#TD2# Cormier bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cormier working the ground and pound from side control. Mallin is looking to regain half guard here but Cormier keeps moving and retains side control.
