There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ivanov is on top in guard.

Bass is striking from the bottom but Ivanov uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Bass is pressing down on Ivanov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bass avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bass wants to stand up but Ivanov is controlling him. #T1#

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#SUB2#

The referee asks Bass politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bass prefers to stall for the moment though.
Bass seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ivanov for as long as he can get away with.

Ivanov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bass looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bass is working an open guard so Ivanov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ivanov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bass manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ivanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
