#R1##TD2# Goyo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gregory napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gregory parries the strikes from Goyo easily there. Goyo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gregory to escape.
Goyo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Goyo working the ground and pound. Gregory is trying to escape the position but Goyo is controlling the position. It looks like Goyo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Goyo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Gregory is trying to control Goyo's posture but Goyo avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gregory tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Goyo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Goyo working away. Gregory is trying to escape the position but Goyo is controlling the position. Goyo landing strikes. Gregory seems a little lost for a moment, as Goyo dominates the positioning. Gregory really is a fat lump. Gregory can't do much from the bottom here. Gregory is working to avoid the ground and pound but Goyo connects with a decent elbow. Gregory is pushing Goyo's head away, looking to escape. Goyo manages to hold on to the position though. Goyo is looking to take a break and control but Gregory is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Goyo wants to control from the top but Gregory keeps moving. Gregory bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goyo's guard. #REVR# Gregory sitting in guard, not really doing much. Goyo working a defensive guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Timmy Gregory. I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1# Macdonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King. King swats away the attempt to clinch by Macdonald.#TD2# Macdonald feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Macdonald controls the pace.#SUB# King working for a triangle but Macdonald defends it easily.

King trying to keep a closed guard but Macdonald is proving a slippery customer.

Goyo prevents Chavez from escaping the position.#SUB2# Goyo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Chavez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. #SUB2# Goyo wants to work for an arm triangle but Chavez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chavez is looking for a sweep. Goyo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chavez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chavez. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chavez connects with a nice short shot to Goyo's temple. Chavez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. #SUB# Chavez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura...
