Sapolu has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Helix is landing a low percentage of strikes. Sapolu throws a lazy head kick and Helix counters with a lovely shot to the body.#CL2# Sapolu drives through and clinches with Helix against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Quinn Helix will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mickey Sapolu's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And that's the end of the fight! Mickey Sapolu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sapolu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Velez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rivera counters with a right hand to the body. Rivera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#KD2# Rivera lands a big head kick that sends Velez tumbling to the mat! Rivera takes a step backwards and waves Velez back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC2# Velez is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Shayne Velez has been cut. Rivera throws an overhand right that has Velez reeling! Rivera follows up with more punches and Velez is out cold! This one is all over!

#R1# Cole scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Castillo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cole counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Castillo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Castillo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cole lands with a nice combination. Castillo backs away looking to recover. Cole throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Castillo crashing down! Castillo tries to stagger back to his feet but Cole just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Castillo asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rico Cole! A very excited looking Rico Cole made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Villarreal was covering up waiting for the punch and Rivera finishes the takedown easily into guard. Rivera is fighting to break Villarreal's control of his arms but Villarreal is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Villarreal continues to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villarreal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Erik Sykes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sykes tries to clinch but Goff moves out of range. Goff swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Sykes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown #TD# and Goff decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sykes's guard.#ES2# Sykes uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sykes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Goff counters with a lovely shot to the body.
