Drake remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Thomas tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Drake cranks the arm and Thomas screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Thomas, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

No joy there for Cross, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cross jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Cross gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Thomas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cross moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cross tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Thomas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#TD2#

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
