Abel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Abel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodriguez.
Abel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rodriguez throws a body shot but no joy. #TD2#
Abel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodriguez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Abel in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Abel prevents Rodriguez from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodriguez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Maximus stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Poulsen.
Maximus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by Poulsen or perhaps it was just good defense by Maximus, which made it look bad.
Maximus stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Poulsen tries for a takedown but Maximus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Maximus throws a body shot but no joy.
Maximus rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Poulsen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maximus throws a monster overhand right that drops Poulsen! Maximus follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brutus Maximus!
