#R1##TD2# Franco shoots in and bounces Gifford off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Gifford is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Franco is stalling in the full guard. #SU2# Franco decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gifford, up you get! #TD2# Franco shoots in and gets a takedown into Gifford's guard. Franco passes easily into side control. Nice work. Franco is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gifford will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Gifford is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Franco is working Gifford over with some ground and pound from side control. Franco connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gifford some visible discomfort.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Franco content to control the pace. Sveizy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Farnan's head backwards. Farnan throws a sloppy head kick and Sveizy moves out of range easily. Farnan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sveizy defends it nicely. Sveizy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Farnan as he avoids it easily. #CL# Sveizy moves into the clinch successfully.
#TD2# Farnan gets control of Sveizy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Farnan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sveizy is looking to stand up but Farnan won't let him. Farnan wants to improve his position but instead Sveizy has moved into half guard.

#R1# Gifford takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Guy lands a glancing blow to the side of Gifford's head.#CUT# It looks like Angel Gifford has been cut. Gifford fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Guy lands a really nice looking cross but Gifford seems unphased.
A punch lands to the side of Gifford 's head but he takes it in his stride.#ROC# Gifford is rocked! Crack! Guy connects with the perfect overhand right and Gifford falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Guy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Black Guy! Black Guy was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Hizer wants to stand but Luis is controlling the position. Luis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That was a close round but I would say that Hans Hizer will probably get the nod. The referee calls time.
