Shifter misses with a takedown attempt - Man sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Shifter fails with a takedown attempt. Man doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Shifter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown attempt by Shifter or perhaps it was just good defense by Man, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shifter slips under a jab. Boxing Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Man lands a jab to the nose.#T1# A jab from Man misses. Man throws a poor cross that misses
#TD# and Shifter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Shifter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Man taking some punishment here, with Shifter in his half guard. Shifter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spar misses with a few strikes there.
Spar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Courtial moves away. Spar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Courtial stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Courtial looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Courtial moves away from the strike by Spar. A punch lands to the side of Courtial 's head but he takes it in his stride. Spar attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Spar misses with the combination.
Courtial throws a counter combo. Spar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A left and a right from Spar both land. Nice combination. Spar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A little jabbing left from Courtial on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A head kick by Spar misses and Courtial counters with a slapping leg kick. Courtial blocks a head kick by Spar.
Spar misses with a left hand and Courtial makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Spar swings away with a leg kick that misses. Courtial smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A head kick misses from Spar. Spar tries to land a body kick and Courtial counters with a left to the body. #T2# Courtial lands a nice shot that snaps Spar's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Donk. Courtial catches Spar right on the button with a cross. Courtial stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Spar throws a series of punches but Courtial avoids them all with ease. A little jabbing left from Courtial on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Courtial misses with a wild combination.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man shoots in for a double leg but Lucroy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.#TD2# Lucroy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Man quickly recovers to half guard. Man is staying active underneath Lucroy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Man definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Man taking some punishment here, with Lucroy in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lucroy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Lucroy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lucroy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Man keeps working. Man on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Man tries to get out of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Lucroy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Man with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Lucroy lands a big shot. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. #R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Spar. No joy for Faire on that attempt. #TD2# Faire gets caught napping as Spar dives in and scores a takedown. Faire manages to retain guard. Faire not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Spar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Faire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. #R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gagnon sprawls well. Gagnon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spar gets slowly back to his feet. Spar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wrestling Spar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gagnon leaves Spar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mitch Gagnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wrestling Spar. Gagnon lands the left hand. Spar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gagnon circles away. Man sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Guire definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. and Doner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Doner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.#CUT2#It looks like Skop Doner has been cut. Doner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Man counters with a right hand to the body. Doner misses with a takedown attempt and Man counters with a nice uppercut. #TD# Doner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Man to the ground. Doner is now in Man's guard. Doner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Man is not content to let Doner control the position. Man is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Doner asserts his dominance and retains side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#SUB# Doner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #T1# Doner is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Man will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Man tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Doner cranks the arm and Man screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Man, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
