Thompson tries to bench press Luis off him but Luis keeps the position. Luis working the strikes but Thompson uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Luis looks winded! Thompson is staying active underneath Luis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. #SUB2# Luis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thompson defends it well. Luis prevents Thompson from standing back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thompson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Thompson lands a couple of digs. Krum looks winded! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson with a flurry of punches that miss. Thompson working some strikes from top position. Thompson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. #SU# Thompson stands up and waves to Krum to follow him. #T1##CL# Thompson drives through and clinches with Krum against the cage.

Cae misses with a lunging right hand
and Thompson counters with a three punch combo that has Cae backing up. Cae nods at Thompson to acknowledge the strikes. Ashad Cae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Cae has cracked Thompson with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Cae lands another huge swinging hook and Thompson tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Thompson, before Cae can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ashad Cae! Ashad Cae bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.

Tate is really struggling to control Takedownamadov but he's trying to hold on to the position. Tate preventing the sweep. Tate is working the ground and pound from guard. Takedownamadov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tate.
