Maldonado regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Maldonado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Maldonado controls Capers momentarily but Capers frees himself. Maldonado trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Maldonado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Capers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mims throws a head kick that misses. #TD2# Mims closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mims lands in his opponent's guard. Maldonado keeping moving, preventing Mims from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Larsen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alessandro sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Larsen is thwarting Alessandro's attempts to control the position.
