#CL# Schmidt darts in and clinches Alpha up against the cage. Schmidt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alpha smiles and moves away.
Schmidt misses with a takedown and Alpha counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Schmidt thinking. Alpha scores with a hook to the body. Schmidt takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Alpha shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Schmidt defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmidt darts in looking for a takedown but Alpha gets double underhooks and turns Schmidt into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manfred Schmidt . That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL# Schmidt moves into the clinch.#BC2# Alpha's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Schmidt has his takedown stuffed and Alpha connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#T1# Schmidt throws a lazy head kick and Alpha counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alpha's half guard. Schmidt prevents Alpha from improving his position. Alpha avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Schmidt . Alpha is trying to control but can't.

Alpha tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Schmidt has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Schmidt tries to control but Alpha wriggling away. Alpha sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Schmidt looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. #T3# Alpha tries to get to full guard but Schmidt has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alpha gets full guard. Alpha looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schmidt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Alpha keeping moving, preventing Schmidt from controlling successfully. Alpha trying to control the position here. Alpha looking for a sweep. Not yet Alpha, not yet. #T4# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Schmidt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Alpha's head. Alpha looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Alpha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Schmidt won't allow Alpha to sweep him here. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#TD# Schmidt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Schmidt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Schmidt trying to control the action but Alpha is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Alpha is being controlled here. Alpha throws out a loose jab but Schmidt uses good head movement to avoid it. #CL# Schmidt closes the distance and pushes Alpha back into the cage. Alpha tries to break the clinch but Schmidt is controlling the position. Schmidt is looking to break free of the clinch but Alpha has double underhooks. Schmidt is looking to take this one to the mat. Alpha tries to stall but Schmidt uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Alpha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schmidt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Alpha stops Schmidt from getting back to his feet.

Manfred Schmidt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alpha with a couple of shots to the head there. He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Schmidt on a fantastic submission victory.

#R1# Hjung throws a sloppy head kick and Werthers moves out of range easily. Werthers swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. We've been hearing reports that Hjung has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hjung with a lazy takedown attempt and Werthers counters with a nice uppercut. Hjung shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Werthers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#ROC2# Hjung is rocked! Hjung takes a body punch but keeps moving. Oh Hjung is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Werthers fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hjung is breathing heavily. Hjung takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hjung get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Hjung stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Werthers runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Lesnarsson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Good work by Patterson as he checks the leg kick. Lesnarsson lands a head kick. Patterson smiles back at him and beckons him forward. A punch combination from Lesnarsson misses. Lesnarsson throws a one two combo.
#CUT2# It looks like Patrick Patterson has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Patterson throws a body punch but Lesnarsson moves out of range. Lesnarsson throws a looping overhand right but Patterson ducks down to avoid it. Borg Lesnarsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesnarsson pushes Patterson away with a front kick. Good exchange - Patterson coming out on top.#CUT# It looks like Borg Lesnarsson has been cut. Lesnarsson throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Patterson colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Lesnarsson as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Patterson is left battered and dazed whilst Lesnarsson and his camp cheer!

Hjung goes for a double leg but Wu Cao avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wu Cao continues to drive forward. A nice side step and Wu Cao releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.#CL2# Wu Cao clinches with his opponent.
Wu Cao looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Wu Cao wants a takedown but no success here.
#TD# Hjung has Wu Cao pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hjung pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wu Cao tumbling to the mat - Hjung dives into Wu Cao's guard. Hjung postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.#SUB# Hjung thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wu Cao working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hjung. Alpha has control of Schmidt 's left arm, preventing Schmidt from doing any damage. Schmidt stands and throws Alpha's legs to the side, diving into side control. Schmidt wants to control but Alpha is keeping him busy. Alpha looks to move to half guard but instead Schmidt has passed into mount! Damn! Alpha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schmidt . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alpha is wriggling around trying to escape.

Schmidt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alpha counters with a stiff right hand. We've been told by Schmidt 's head coaches at IFA: Performance Institute that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.#T4# Schmidt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alpha defends well and Schmidt ends up having to push Alpha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Schmidt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alpha avoids it really well and circles away. Alpha is looking for the big counter here. Schmidt shoots for a double leg takedown but Alpha sprawls well. He's pushed Schmidt 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Schmidt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Schmidt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#TD2# Alpha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Figis bucks up and tries to throw Hjung off but instead Hjung has got his back!#SUB2# Hjung has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Figis is in real trouble here. Hjung gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Figis is tapping out! Hjung wins by rear naked choke!
