#R1##TD# Diplo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jansen was covering up waiting for the punch and Diplo finishes the takedown easily into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jansen can do anything to dispel that myth. Jansen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Diplo is one step ahead there. Diplo looking to pass the guard. Diplo wanted to stand there but Jansen had control of the position. #SUB2# Diplo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diplo has managed to get both his arms back between Jansen's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diplo postures up and lands a big shot to Jansen's brow. Diplo trying to control the position from guard on top but Jansen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jansen can't keep his opponent in guard - Diplo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. #T1# Jansen is looking for a sweep. Diplo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Diplo works his foot free and advances to mount. Jansen working to try and regain half guard.
Diplo avoids the attempt from Jansen to control. Jansen is squirming around, avoiding Diplo's attempts to control the action. #T2# Jansen wants to hold on but Diplo pushes him away. Diplo lands a big shot there that rocks Jansen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Jansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Diplo trying to keep a closed guard but Jansen is proving a slippery customer.

He's hooked one of Jansen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jansen's back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diplo has the hooks in. Jansen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jansen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diplo manages to get himself to full guard.

Diplo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diplo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. #SUB2# Jansen is looking for a triangle but Diplo pushes his legs off easily.

Dennis Diplo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Scheldt tries to pass to full mount but Morales defends it. Scheldt is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scheldt throws a strike but Morales avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Scheldt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Morales wants to sweep but no luck. #T1# Morales controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morales wants to stand but Scheldt is controlling the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Morales has one of Scheldt's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.#T3# Scheldt looks up at the clock and then as Morales takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Scheldt smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Burl Morales. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scheldt changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Morales fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Scheldt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Scheldt looking to land some kicks to the body here.
