#R1# Van Cleefe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Evers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. An inside leg kick from Van Cleefe misses. Evers tried to counter with a leg kick but Van Cleefe avoided it. Marc Evers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Van Cleefe stuffs the takedown. Evers throws a head kick that Van Cleefe semi-blocks.

Evers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Evers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Evers shoots in looking for a takedown but Van Cleefe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Evers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Evers is breathing heavily. Evers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Van Cleefe's waist but Van Cleefe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Evers off to one side. Evers shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Evers moves in looking to clinch but Van Cleefe pushes him off. Van Cleefe lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.#T3# No luck with that takedown attempt from Van Cleefe. Evers tries to bum rush Van Cleefe with a series of wild strikes but Van Cleefe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Van Cleefe unleashes a big counter combination but Evers bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Van Cleefe misses with a kick to the body.

Van Cleefe throws a hook to the side of Evers's head but Evers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nice defenses there by Evers. A little feinted left hand from Evers on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Van Cleefe throws a wild body kick that Evers sees coming a mile off. Van Cleefe is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.#T4# Van Cleefe misses the body punch and Evers counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Van Cleefe is lucky that one didn't land flush. Evers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Van Cleefe as he avoids it easily. Evers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Van Cleefe looks to score with a jab to the body but Evers is just out of range. Van Cleefe just misses with a punch to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Cleefe connects with a right hand. Evers shakes it off. A close round but Lee Van Cleefe will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Van Cleefe misses with a hook. Evers looks for a takedown but Van Cleefe sprawls well. Van Cleefe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
#CL# Van Cleefe gets tackled into the cage by Evers. Evers maintains the clinch. Van Cleefe is looking to break free of the clinch but Evers has double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evers is looking for a takedown. Evers is pushing Van Cleefe up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Evers manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Cleefe walks away with a smile on his face. Evers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Van Cleefe wants to slow Evers down by chopping away at his legs. Van Cleefe is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Evers rather than just go for the knockout. Van Cleefe shoots in looking for a takedown. Evers tries to sprawl out of it but Van Cleefe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Evers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Marc Evers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Van Cleefe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Evers defends it nicely. Evers dips to his left and cracks Van Cleefe with an uppercut! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Van Cleefe, right into the meat.
Evers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Van Cleefe. That did some damage! Evers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Van Cleefe is fending him off so far but Evers persists. Nope, Van Cleefe circles away and we're back to standing. Van Cleefe throws a punch but it's blocked by Evers. Van Cleefe wants to get back to striking at distance but Evers won't allow it.
#TD# Evers manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Evers wants to sweep but no luck. Van Cleefe throws a big right hand that misses. #SUB# Evers looking for a guillotine here but Van Cleefe defends easily.
Van Cleefe wanted to stand there but Evers had control of the position. #T4# Evers pulls Van Cleefe in close to prevent any damage. #SUB# Evers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Van Cleefe stacks Evers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Van Cleefe! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Evers is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evers wants to take the fight to the mat but Van Cleefe manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Van Cleefe drops down looking for an ankle pick but Evers pulls his leg out and moves away.

Van Cleefe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
