#R1# A jab lands there for Hobden. Hobden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Conway defends it nicely. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hobden. The fighters circling - Conway throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hobden fails with a takedown attempt. Nestor Conway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Hobden. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Conway drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.#ES2# Hobden throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!#T1##CL2# Hobden closes the distance and clinches.#BC# Conway breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hobden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
#CL2# Hobden clinches up with Conway and pushes him back against the cage.#TD2# Hobden has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Conway uses from the top position. Hobden trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Hobden looking for a sweep. Not yet Hobden, not yet. Conway slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Hobden.#T2# Conway missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Conway really is a fat lump. Hobden wants to control but Conway is keeping busy.
Hobden wants to get back to full guard but Conway has mounted him! Hobden gets back to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hobden avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Conway. Hobden is trying to control but Conway manages to pass to mount!

Conway punishing his opponent with strikes. Conway dominating with strikes here. Hobden tries to lock up and control but Conway gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Conway controlling the position easily from mount. Conway landing punches. #T4# Conway landing strikes from the mount and Hobden is in trouble! Hobden throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Conway controlling the pace for now. Conway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hobden tries to hold on but Conway pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nestor Conway dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Hobden shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hobden with a lazy takedown attempt #TD# and Conway counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hobden! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hobden is pushing Conway's head away, looking to escape. Conway manages to hold on to the position though. Hobden is looking for a sweep. Nestor Conway overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Conway looks up at the clock and then as Hobden takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Conway smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
