Dodson dodges the punch combination from Pei.
#TD2# Pei closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dodson wants to stand back up but Pei manages to pass into side control.
Pei creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dodson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pei has just dragged him back down to the mat. Dodson is trying to control Pei's posture but Pei avoids it. Dodson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Pei content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. #SUB2# Pei working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. #T1##SU2# Pei has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. #CL# Dodson forces Pei back against the cage and clinches.#TD2# Pei drags the fight down to the ground.
Pei pulls Dodson in to control the position. Pei is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dodson is controlling him. Dodson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pei on the ground. Dodson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Dodson connects with a couple of short punches.#T2##SUB2# Pei is looking for a triangle but Dodson pushes his legs off easily.
Dodson controlling from the top position. Pei is trying to control the position but Dodson postures up. Dodson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pei might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dodson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Pei can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dodson controls the pace.#T3# Dodson is looking to work some ground and pound but Pei has wrist control. Pei is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pei keeping moving, preventing Dodson from controlling successfully. Dodson won't allow Pei to sweep him here. #SUB2# Pei is looking for a triangle but Dodson pushes his legs off easily.
Dodson cracks Pei with a solid left hand. Dodson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pei pulls Dodson in close to prevent any damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.#T4# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dodson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#CL2# Pei has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pei is trying to break the clinch but Dodson has him pressed against the cage. Dodson goes for a takedown attempt but Pei pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
#TD2# Pei looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dodson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dodson trying to keep a closed guard but Pei is proving a slippery customer.

Dodson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pei manages to circle out of the way. Pei has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#CL2# Pei has managed to clinch.

Edward Pei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pei bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.#CUT2# It looks like Stephen Dodson has been cut. No joy there for Dodson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dodson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pei throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dodson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pei trying to control but Dodson is working from the bottom. #T1# Pei would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pei trying to control the position from guard on top but Dodson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dodson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Pei wants to pass the guard but Dodson is keeping the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dodson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Edward Pei has got the better of the ground game so far. Pei throws a sloppy head kick and Dodson moves out of range easily. #T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.#TD2# Pei changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dodson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pei trying to control the action but Dodson is working from the bottom. Pei is breathing heavily.#SUB2# Pei in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Dodson is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
