#R1# Li moves away from the strike by Holmes. Holmes throws a right hand that misses
#TD# and Li counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Holmes looks like he's trying to stand up.
Li sitting and controlling from the half guard. Li slips a nice elbow through Holmes's hands, connecting with Holmes's forehead. Li working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Holmes is looking to escape. Holmes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Li not doing much here.
Li is looking to advance position but Holmes won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li prevents Holmes from standing back up.

Good little attack there by Li.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Haitian Ginger! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Olly Holy! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Holy shoots in for a double leg but Ginger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Holy tries to clinch up but Ginger circles away and keeps his distance. Ginger seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.#CL2# Holy darts in and clinches Ginger up against the cage. Ginger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Holy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
#TD2# Holy is trying to trip Ginger. He has hold of a leg but Ginger is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Holy persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ginger (0) vs (2) Holy Ginger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Li shoots in but no luck this time. Huerta changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Li looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ortega to escape.

Li lands with a punch from half guard. Cahill wants to get back to full guard. Cahill is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Li's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Li's back! Li is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Cahill off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.#SUB# Cahill is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Li knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well.
