#R1# Nazarov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Woodward counters with a stiff right hand. #TD# Nazarov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nazarov moves into full mount! Woodward won't be happy about that! Woodward regains half guard. Nazarov lands strikes from half guard. Woodward is refusing to be controlled, as Nazarov sits in half guard. Nazarov passes to full mount! Woodward takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nazarov in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

#R1# Blaha shoots in but no luck this time. Shields fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blaha avoids it really well and circles away. Blaha throws a counter combo. Shields really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Blaha shoots for a double leg takedown but Shields sprawls well. He's pushed Blaha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Blaha shoots in for a takedown but Shields shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Shields feinted with a counter takedown. Joey Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Blaha. Blaha throws a sloppy head kick and Shields moves out of range easily. Shields is looking to counter the offense by Blaha and move into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blaha with a hook. Shields tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blaha swivels and escapes. Shields tries to score a power double leg takedown but Blaha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shields somewhat.#T1# Blaha tries a head kick but it misses.

Shields looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Shields darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Shields looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Blaha steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Shields.#T2# Horrible takedown attempt by Blaha or perhaps it was just good defense by Shields, which made it look bad. Shields throws a counter high kick but Blaha was just alert enough to avoid it. Blaha fails with the takedown. Blaha just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromShields. Blaha shoots in looking for a takedown. Shields tries to sprawl out of it but Blaha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shields manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shields tries to clinch but Blaha moves out of range. #T3# Blaha doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shields counters with a head kick. That will keep Blaha thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Blaha goes for a double leg but Shields avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shields continues to drive forward. Blaha looks winded! Blaha shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shields sprawls well. Shields wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blaha gets slowly back to his feet. Shields half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Shields tries for a takedown but Blaha sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Despite the aggression on Blaha's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Blaha shoots in but Shields avoids the takedown attempt easily.#T4##CL# Shields clinches up with Blaha and pushes him back against the cage.#TD# Shields lands a takedown into guard.
Blaha is trying to control the position but Shields postures up. Shields will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Blaha bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shields's guard. #REVB# Blaha passes Shields's left leg - he's now in half guard. Shields trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shields is staying active underneath Blaha, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.#SUB2# Blaha is looking for a kimura here.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joey Shields. Well Shields has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
