#R1# ZB tries for a takedown but Carson circles away easily#TD# and Carson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. ZB tries to kick Carson off but Carson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. ZB taking some punishment here, with Carson in his half guard. ZB keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Carson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. ZB tries to roll over but Carson keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. ZB manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Carson won't allow ZB to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as ZB works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Carson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Carson scoring with some ground and pound. ZB tries to land a sweep but no joy. ZB preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1# Carson throws a big elbow that misses. ZB looking to control.
#SUB2# ZB isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carson stacks ZB on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carson!#SUB# Carson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Carson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear ZB down.
ZB is trying to buck Carson off.#SUB# Carson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. ZB looks calm but he's in trouble here. Carson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. ZB is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Carson lets go of the hold and ZB can pop his arm back in it's socket.
