#R1# Jones Jr closes the distance and clinches up with Kargins, looking for a takedown. Jones Jr pushes Kargins against the cage but Kargins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aivis Kargins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones Jr avoids the head kick by Kargins.
Kargins throws a sloppy head kick and Jones Jr moves out of range easily. Jones Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones Jr shoots for a takedown but Kargins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kargins is looking for a counter combo. Aivis Kargins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Jones Jr. Kargins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kargins tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones Jr is looking to clinch but Kargins is avoiding it.
Kargins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones Jr but Jones Jr pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones Jr is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.#TD2# Jones Jr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kargins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones Jr. #T1# Kargins trying to control from the bottom.
#SU2# Jones Jr decides to stand and escape the position. Kargins throws a sloppy head kick and Jones Jr moves out of range easily. Jones Jr is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Kargins stuffs the takedown.#CL# Kargins takes the fight into the clinch. #BC# Kargins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kargins has been working on his balance at Island Hammers Fight Camp, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Jones Jr. Jones Jr lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
#CL# Kargins forces Jones Jr back against the cage and clinches. Jones Jr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kargins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones Jr stalling in the clinch but Kargins improves position. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Jones Jr seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.#TD# Kargins jumps into guard, dragging Jones Jr to the mat.
#T2##SUB# Jones Jr is sitting in close to Kargins's body. Kargins has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jones Jr is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jones Jr is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kargins.
