#R1##CL2# LeHotta clinches up with Shaffer and pushes him back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Shaffer fails to land. Shaffer looking to slow down the pace here.#TD2# LeHotta has Shaffer pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. LeHotta pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shaffer tumbling to the mat - LeHotta dives into Shaffer's guard. Shaffer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shaffer keeping full guard, as LeHotta tries to pass. Shaffer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaffer postures up.
Shaffer really is a fat lump. Shaffer stops LeHotta from standing up. #T1# Shaffer won't allow LeHotta to sweep him here. LeHotta is still trying to improve position. LeHotta throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

LeHotta working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shaffer. LeHotta wants to sweep here but Shaffer controlling him for the moment. Shaffer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. LeHotta has momentary wrist control but Shaffer slips an elbow through the middle.#T2# Shaffer stands up over LeHotta, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaffer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Shaffer landing with the ground and pound. Shaffer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Shaffer is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shaffer throws a big right hand that misses. #SUB2# LeHotta is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shaffer is aware though and is defending well. LeHotta looks winded! Shaffer throwing strikes but missing. Shaffer postures up.
#SU# Shaffer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #TD2# LeHotta closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shaffer's guard. Shaffer is pulling down on LeHotta's head. It's preventing any offense from LeHotta, at least for the moment.#T3# LeHotta in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. LeHotta trying to stand up but can't free himself from Shaffer's guard. LeHotta missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Shaffer seems keen to control LeHotta's posture.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#TD2# LeHotta manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shaffer on his heels. He'll look to pass Shaffer's guard now, I'm sure.#ES# Shaffer is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. LeHotta presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Shaffer lands an elbow that stopped LeHotta in his tracks for a moment. Shaffer misses with a short punch on the inside. #TD2# LeHotta has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shaffer regains guard immediately. #ES# Shaffer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes LeHotta off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. LeHotta moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Demetrius Shaffer dominated that round. That's time! Shaffer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. #R2##CL# Shaffer has closed the distance and engaged LeHotta in a clinch.

#BC# Shaffer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#TD2# LeHotta looking to score a takedown here. Shaffer is defending well but LeHotta drives through and ends up in Shaffer's guard. LeHotta trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaffer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. LeHotta wants to pass the guard but Shaffer is keeping the position. Shaffer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that LeHotta can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. LeHotta wants to stand and escape but instead Shaffer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVR# Shaffer postures up in LeHotta's guard and throws a big left but LeHotta blocks it. #T1# LeHotta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. LeHotta trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Shaffer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as LeHotta works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Shaffer trying to control the position from guard on top but LeHotta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Demetrius Shaffer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB# Shaffer drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shaffer seems to have locked his on tight now - LeHotta screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shaffer, as he picks up the win!
