#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kansleri avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lewis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kansleri steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Lewis. Lewis doesn't succeed with the takedown#CL2# and Kansleri counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kansleri with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kansleri effectively controlling the action here. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Lewis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee is keeping an eye on Kansleri - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kansleri works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Lewis is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Lewis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kansleri gets the underhooks and prevents it.
#T1# Lewis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nigel Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lewis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kansleri keeps control of Lewis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A left hand lands to the body for Kansleri.
A frustrated look appears on Lewis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lewis has had enough of the clinch but Kansleri keeps him there for the moment. Lewis is trying to break the clinch but Kansleri has him pressed against the cage. #TD2# Kansleri ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kansleri no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kansleri has Lewis pulled in close to control his posture. #T2##SUB2# Kansleri is looking to cinch up a triangle. Lewis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kansleri's body to avoid the submission. Kansleri has instead reached around Lewis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kansleri arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rauta Kansleri! Rauta Kansleri was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |
