Coppola is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Coppola can't do much from the bottom here. Coppola is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson controls the position from side control.#T1# Coppola tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Anderson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Coppola's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nope, Redd circles away and we're back to standing. Redd walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barella checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. #TD2# Redd closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barella's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Redd wants to control from the top but Barella keeps moving. Barella seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Redd trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Barella wants to sweep but no luck. Redd trying to control the position from guard on top but Barella is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T1# There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barella is on top in guard.

Barella throws a combination that misses and Barella takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barella paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Barella fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Redd feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barellas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Barella throws a series of punches but Redd moves out of range. Redd circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sonny Barella seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barella changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Redd tries to avoid it but Barella manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Redd to the ground. Redd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sonny Barella. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barella throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Redd counters with a straight right hand. Barella throws a right and a left that both miss. Barella shoots for a double leg takedown but Redd sprawls well. He's pushed Barella's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Barella does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Barella throws a right and a left that both miss.#T3# Barella throws a sloppy head kick and Redd moves out of range easily. A nice side step and Redd releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Redd slips a jab and a cross from Barella.

Poor timing from Barella.#T4# A jab from Barella finds it's way through Redd's defenses. Sonny Barella is winning the standup battle so far. Redd throws a big shot that misses. Barella throws a body shot but no joy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barella is trying hard to land a takedown here. Redd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Barella misses with a jab, cross combination.

#R1##TD2# Barella shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Barella is working Master over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Barella has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barella slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. #SUB2# Barella drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Barella seems to have locked his on tight now - Master screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Barella, as he picks up the win!

#R1# A head kick misses from Barella. Bouddi blocks a leg kick. Barella tries to work over Bouddi's front leg with a kick but Bouddi checks it. Barella fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Barella throws a series of punches but Bouddi avoids them all with ease. Barella throws a right hand that Bouddi ducks under and follows up with a left that Bouddi also avoids with ease. Bouddi with a jab. Barella throws a hook but Bouddi avoids it easily. Barella misses with a takedown and Bouddi counters with a head kick. That will keep Barella thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Barella moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Barella takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Barella takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bouddi swats away the attempt to clinch by Barella. Barella finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

They are putting on a show! Barella dives in and grabs Bouddi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bouddi pushes down on Barella's head and hops out. Bouddi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Barella.#T2# Barella tries to bum rush Bouddi with a series of wild strikes but Bouddi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bouddi connects with a high kick. A jab from Bouddi does it's job there.#CL# Barella moves into the clinch. Bouddi told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Bouddi lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Bouddi has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.#BC2# Bouddi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bouddi appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Bouddi connects with a solid leg kick. A slow jab from Bouddi misses its intended target. No joy there for Barella, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bandolero. Nice shot by Kay. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bandolero has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bandolero closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kay is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bandolero. Bandolero shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kay eats them both and turns towards Bandolero to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Kay moves out of range as Bandolero throws a body kick.

Barella keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Savette throws a head punch that misses. Savette has Barella pressed against the cage, preventing Barella from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Barella has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
