Oliveira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Garner Jr's guard.
Garner Jr is trying to control the position but Oliveira postures up.
Oliveira is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Oliveira is having to fend off submission attempts from Garner Jr, who is looking to sink in the choke. Garner Jr doesn't have the hooks in though and Oliveira manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garner Jr tries to buck Oliveira off but Oliveira is having none of it.
Oliveira is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Oliveira has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Oliveira might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Garner Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
