Hitchcock looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Hitchcock throws a right hand that ONeill ducks under and follows up with a left that ONeill also avoids with ease. ONeill connects with a nice looking jab.

#TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Hitchcock. This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB2# Hitchcock is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but ONeill is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hitchcock working the body and head with strikes. ONeill's coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. ONeill is trying to escape and get back to his feet. ONeill takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris tries to clinch but Fletcher moves out of range. Harris misses with a body shot.
#TD# Harris looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fletcher tries to roll over but Harris keeps him under control. Fletcher trying to hold on to Harris's head to control him but Harris postures up.
Harris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fletcher on the ground. Fletcher is pressing down on Harris's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris wants to control from the top but Fletcher keeps moving. Harris trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fletcher's guard.#SUB2# Fletcher looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##SUB2# Harris has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fletcher to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Harris is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fletcher pulls down on the head and he's put Harris to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitchcock does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. ONeill fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hitchcock looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. ONeill misses with a few strikes there.
Hitchcock shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hitchcock showed some decent athleticism there. ONeill trying to control here.
Hitchcock seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. ONeill actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Well, if Hitchcock is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

ONeill bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Hitchcock dives in and scores a takedown into ONeill's guard. Hitchcock drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hitchcock jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hitchcock postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. ONeill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hitchcock slips nicely into half guard. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The fighters circle momentarily. ONeill darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hitchcock gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

ONeill tries to pull guard but Hitchcock forces him back to his feet, against the cage. ONeill fails to pull the fight into his guard.

ONeill clobbers Hitchcock with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A jab from ONeill finds it's way through Hitchcock's defenses. Hitchcock with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling ONeill to score with a decent uppercut. ONeill connects with a single shot there. ONeill is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Hitchcock throws a head kick but ONeill moves out of range.
ONeill throws a big counter combination but Hitchcock scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. ONeill closes the distance and lands a one-two. A punch combination from Hitchcock misses. Hitchcock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! ONeill lands with a hook. Hitchcock tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kissy ONeill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. ONeill connects with a single shot there. ONeill lands the left hand.

and Hitchcock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hitchcock closes the distance and pushes ONeill back into the cage. ONeill blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hitchcock tries a knee to the head but ONeill blocks it.
ONeill jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hitchcock walks away with a smile on his face. ONeill gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. ONeill works the jab nicely. ONeill uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hitchcock has time to react. ONeill swinging wildly here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sechrist decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Harris's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sechrist is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sechrist postures up in Harris's guard and throws a big left but Harris blocks it. Sechrist showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Sechrist trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris looking for a guillotine here but Sechrist defends easily.
Sechrist is pushing down on Harris's leg trying to pass to half guard. Harris is fighting to maintain full guard but Sechrist has managed to sneak the leg through.

Sechrist is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sechrist is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Sechrist is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sechrist slips a nice elbow through Harris's hands, connecting with Harris's forehead. Harris trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sechrist gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Harris tries to land a body kick and Sechrist counters with a single leg into guard. Harris didn't expect that. Harris working for submissions but it's allowed Sechrist to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harris is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sechrist's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sechrist's back! Harris avoiding Sechrist 's attempts to control his hands. Sechrist really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Harris is trying to stick to Sechrist's back but Sechrist is turning into Harris. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Harris's guard. He's got his arms around Sechrist's waist but Sechrist gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harris off to one side. Sechrist gets a double leg takedown into Harris's guard. Harris has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sechrist is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Sechrist is trying to push Harris away but Harris has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Harris pulls guard successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sechrist shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harris pinned against the cage. Harris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No joy there for Sechrist, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harris shoots in for a double leg but Sechrist sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nice sprawl there from Harris as Sechrist shoots in. Sechrist dives in and grabs Harris's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harris pushes down on Sechrist's head and hops out. Jack Harris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Sechrist. Sechrist takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Harris shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sechrist tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harris defends well and Sechrist ends up having to push Harris into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Harris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sechrist napping and manages to drive through into side control! Harris is looking to take a break and control but Sechrist is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harris stands up and we're back to a striking position. Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sechrist paws at him with a jab and circles away. Harris fails in his attempt to clinch. Sechrist wants to clinch. Harris wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Harris clinches. The referee calls for Harris to work.
Sechrist jumps guard but Harris turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Sechrist is stalling here.
Harris scores with a shot to the side of Sechrist's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harris is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jack Harris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryan Sechrist is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Harris throws a knee to the head but misses.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Harris. I think Sechrist has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
