Morningstar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Morningstar is looking to take a break and control but Diotimus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diotimus is looking to get back to full guard here but Morningstar has managed to pass to side control instead. Morningstar wants to control but Diotimus is keeping him busy. Diotimus tries to bench press Morningstar off him but Morningstar keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morningstar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Diotimus is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Diotimus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Diotimus wants to sweep here but Morningstar controlling him for the moment. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson thuds his shin into the meat of Mornstar's side.#CL# Mornstar darts in and clinches Thompson up against the cage. Mornstar drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
#BC2# Thompson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Thompson cracks Mornstar with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.#TD# Mornstar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mornstar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Thompson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Thompson wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Mornstar drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Thompson 's chin! Thompson is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!
