It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. #T4# Vieira misses with a strike from the bottom. Saitiev was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Vieira uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Saitiev. Vieira wants to counter the offense by Saitiev and move into the clinch position. Nice defenses there by Vieira. Saitiev throws a shot from downtown. Vieira moves away and avoids it. Vieira avoids a punch combination nicely.

Saitiev is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Vieira shoots in for a double leg but Saitiev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vieira tries for a takedown but Saitiev circles away easily and Saitiev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Zelim Saitiev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reinaldo Vieira. Vieira is breathing heavily. Saitiev throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vieira sees it coming and avoids it easily. Vieira is looking to land body kicks. Saitiev throws a body shot but no joy. BOOM! Saitiev lands a beautiful left hook that drops Vieira. Vieira tries to recover but Saitiev is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Vieira lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

and Alarcon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pardi loads up on a big right hand but Alarcon slips the punch. Pardi tries to clinch up. Pardi throws out a loose jab but Alarcon uses good head movement to avoid it. Pardi cracks a nice hook into Alarcon's ribs. Pardi throws a looping overhand right but Alarcon ducks down to avoid it. #CL2# Pardi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.#TD2# Pardi is trying to trip Alarcon. He has hold of a leg but Alarcon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pardi persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Pardi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Alarcon trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Pardi scoring with some ground and pound. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Alarcon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Alarcon keeping moving, preventing Pardi from controlling successfully. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rojas throws a body punch but Westerveld moves out of range. Rojas lands a right hook to the body.
