#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vegas shoots for a double leg takedown but Masvidal sprawls well. He's pushed Vegas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. #KD# Vegas lands a big head kick that sends Masvidal tumbling to the mat! Vegas takes a step backwards and waves Masvidal back to his feet - he wants the finish! Vegas shoots in but no luck this time. Vegas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A cross from Masvidal lands. Vegas shoots in looking for a takedown. Masvidal tries to sprawl out of it but Vegas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masvidal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cici Vegas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vegas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Masvidal. Vegas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vegas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Vegas darts in looking for a takedown but Masvidal gets double underhooks and turns Vegas into the cage. Masvidal swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Masvidal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vegas.
#T1# Masvidal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vegas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Masvidal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Vegas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Vegas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.#CL# Vegas clinches up with Masvidal and pushes him back against the cage. Vegas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Vegas is breathing heavily. Masvidal looking to slow down the pace here. Masvidal lands a right hand. Masvidal wants to break the clinch but can't.

#BC# Vegas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #T2# Vegas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. It seemed like Masvidal was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Vegas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Zion Masvidal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vegas shoots for a double leg takedown but Masvidal sprawls well. He's pushed Vegas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Masvidal lands an overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! A jab from Masvidal finds it's way through Vegas's defenses. Vegas tries to clinch there but Masvidal circles away.
Masvidal swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Vegas takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Masvidal is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vegas had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Masvidal wants to clinch up but Vegas keeps it at a distance. Vegas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Masvidal connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vegas scrambles back to his feet. Masvidal slaps away a takedown attempt from Vegas, before circling back to the center of the mat.#T3# A nice combination there by Masvidal.
Masvidal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Vegas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Masvidal bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vegas's head backwards.#CL# Vegas gets a clinch. Vegas has Masvidal pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Masvidal manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vegas is trying to pull guard but Masvidal has him pressed against the cage. Masvidal has a couple of punches blocked by Vegas.
#BC# Vegas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Vegas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Masvidal.
#T4# Masvidal defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vegas. Masvidal scores with a nice head shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vegas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#ROC2#Vegas is rocked! Masvidal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vegas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Masvidal connects with a right hand. Vegas shakes it off. Oh Vegas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! BOOM! Masvidal lands a beautiful left hook that drops Vegas. Vegas tries to recover but Masvidal is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Vegas lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
