Cools misses the jab.
Cools slips a jab and a cross from Pulsifer.

Pulsifer misses with a short punch on the inside.
Pulsifer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cools pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cools leaves Pulsifer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Pulsifer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cools has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Pulsifer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cools smiles and moves away.

Cools catches Pulsifer with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pulsifer ducks under a wild hook from Cools.
Cools tries to land a front kick but Pulsifer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cools missing with a left hand there. Pulsifer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cools misses with a straight right.
Nice takedown defense from Cools. No joy for Pulsifer on that attempt.
Cools lands a jab to the nose.
A left lands for Cools.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cools throws a shot from downtown. Pulsifer moves away and avoids it.

Cools feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pulsifer sprawling to the canvas! Pulsifer rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cools finish him?!

Cools lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
