Linhoe tries for a takedown but James sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Linhoe fails with a takedown attempt.
Linhoe tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. #TD#
James closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - James lands in his opponent's guard.
Linhoe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Linhoe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Linhoe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T1#

Linhoe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.
