Swanson wants to stand and escape but instead Paiwia has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVB# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paiwia showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Swanson controls Paiwia momentarily but Paiwia frees himself. #T1# Paiwia's corner is telling him to maintain position. #R1# Wont scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Sonefeld looks for a takedown but Wont sprawls well. Sonefeld throws a shot to the body.
#CL# Sonefeld closes the distance and clinches. Wont misses with a punch on the inside.

Wont is defending well against a takedown attempt. Wont is trying to break the clinch but Sonefeld has him pressed against the cage. Wont jumps guard but Sonefeld turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sonefeld drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sonefeld passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wont! Wont holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sonefeld tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wont can do anything to dispel that myth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wont has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sonefeld is working away from the top position though.
