Horrible takedown attempt by Dahlem or perhaps it was just good defense by Mann, which made it look bad.
Mann works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Mann counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Dahlem off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Mann follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Dahlem was out before he hit the floor.

Varland misses the body punch
and Manning counters with a head kick. That will keep Varland thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Varland tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Manning was well out of range. Poor timing from Varland.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Manning feints a jab and as Varland dips his head, Manning unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Varland right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Varland falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Manning smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Aliev throws a big counter combination but Varland scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Aliev is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Varland looks calm but he's in trouble here. Aliev gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Varland is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Aliev lets go of the hold and Varland can pop his arm back in it's socket.
