Oliveri throws a right and a left that both miss. Takaida slips a straight right by Oliveri. Takaida walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Oliveri throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Oliveri takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Takaida darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Oliveri uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takaida. Oliveri throws a head kick that misses. A punch combination from Oliveri misses. Oliveri throws a right hand that Takaida ducks under and follows up with a left that Takaida also avoids with ease. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takaida looks to land a left hand but Oliveri moved out of range nicely. Takaida fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Oliveri looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.#CL2# Takaida forces Oliveri back against the cage and clinches.#T1# Still in the clinch, Takaida scores with a nice short uppercut.#BC2# Takaida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Takaida lands with a short shot to the head. Oh Oliveri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Takaida throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Oliveris head. Oliveri is looking to break free of the clinch but Takaida has double underhooks. Takaida digs a right hand underneath Oliveri's ribcage. Oliveri let out a lung full of air as it connected. Takaida pushes Oliveri back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A short uppercut from Takaida. Takaida lands a nice uppercut. Takaida unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Oliveri! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Takaida is unloading with more strikes now! Oliveri drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Thuta avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smoove Jr takes one to the chin there. Good standup being displayed there by Thuta as he connects with a hook. Thuta scores with a nice strike. Smoove Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thuta moves away. Thuta throws out a counter right but Smoove Jr avoids it with no problem. Thuta looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Smoove Jr throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smoove Jr misses with an uppercut. Thuta saw that one coming. Smoove Jr looks to land a right hand but Thuta moved out of range. Thuta steps in with a hook that catches Smoove Jr right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Thuta follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Smoove Jr looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pyay Thuta! Pyay Thuta decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. #R1##TD# Barbosa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Cipriani is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Barbosa presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. #TD# Barbosa turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barbosa manages to end up in side control. Cipriani manages to get back to half guard. Barbosa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cipriani flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barbosa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cipriani utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barbosa wanted to stand there but Cipriani had control of the position. #SUB# Barbosa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wonder has hold of Maroni's hands but Maroni slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maroni working the head and body with strikes. Wonder is looking to control Maroni's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wonder avoid being mounted? Maroni looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Maroni not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Wonder tries to roll over but Maroni keeps him under control. Castle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Maroni for as long as he can get away with. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SU2# Pete stands up from guard. Let's bang! Oliveri fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
#TD2# Pete manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oliveri on his heels. He'll look to pass Oliveri's guard now, I'm sure. Pete controlling from the guard.
