Horrible takedown attempt by Gates or perhaps it was just good defense by Tom, which made it look bad.

And Gates tries to counter it with a takedown but Tom pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Tom takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gates is fending him off so far but Tom persists. Nope, Gates circles away and we're back to standing.
Tom changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gates tries to avoid it but Tom manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gates to the ground. Gates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well Gates has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
