We've been told by Hunter's head coaches at 3Band MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hunter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Scherma does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Scherma uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dao.
Dao takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Dao has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Scherma. Scherma moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. #CL2# Scherma clinches. Dao is trying to break the clinch but Scherma has him pressed against the cage. Scherma lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. The referee is keeping an eye on Dao - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Dao tries to bum rush Scherma with a series of wild strikes but Scherma uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dao swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. We've been hearing that Tetrev has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Chai has Tetrev pulled in close to control his posture. Tetrev postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Tetrev lands a couple of digs. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
