#R1# Laden stuffs the takedown. As Blare looks to move away, Laden throws a big counter combo but Blare just gets out of the way. Laden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blare defends it nicely. Laden tries to clinch but Blare is having none of it. Blare misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blare is defended easily by Laden. Laden shoots in looking for a takedown but Blare manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laden's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Laden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blare defends it nicely. Blare is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Laden. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD2# Blare gets the takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Blare cracks Laden with a big right hand but Laden just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
#T1##SUB2# Blare looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Laden tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laden working to try and regain half guard.
