With the two fighters working up against the cage, Grivois just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rhames's brow. Rhames jumps guard but Grivois stands there with Rhames around his waist. Rhames gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Grivois not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rhames manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Grivois manages to get himself to full guard.

#SUB# Rhames working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rhames looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Grivois is avoiding damage well.
Grivois tries to improve position but can't. Rhames creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Grivois sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grivois tries to buck Rhames off but Rhames is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Grivois's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grivois can do anything to dispel that myth. Grivois tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Clovis Grivois dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Rhames ducks under a wild hook from Grivois. Rhames throws a big counter combination but Grivois scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.#CL# Rhames closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Clovis Grivois seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Grivois struggles to land a body shot inside as Rhames controls his hands.
Grivois lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. #KD2# Grivois lands a vicious elbow to the side of Rhames's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Grivois tries to finish him with strikes but Rhames still seems able to defend himself so Grivois steps back and lets Rhames get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.#ROC2#Rhames is rocked!#CUT2#It looks like Ving Rhames has been cut.#CL2# Rhames gets tackled into the cage by Grivois. Grivois maintains the clinch. Oh Rhames is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Grivois has Rhames pressed against the cage. He pushes Rhames back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Grivois throws a beautiful elbow that sends Rhames crashing to the floor! Grivois piles on the pressure with more strikes! Rhames is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clovis Grivois! A relieved looking Clovis Grivois thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
