We've been told by Shrute's head coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.#TD2# Shrute gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madera to score an easy takedown into full guard. Madera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Madera trying to control the position from guard on top but Shrute is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Madera might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shrute haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Madera scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Madera postures up in Shrute's guard and throws a big left but Shrute blocks it. Shrute looking to hit a scissor sweep but Madera is one step ahead there. Madera prevents Shrute from getting back to his feet. Madera told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Zuev scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Good leg kick by Zuev. Shrute takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Zuev thumps Shrute with a low kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shrute misses with a takedown attempt and Zuev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. #TD# Takemura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Good wants to get back to his feet but Takemura is dominant here and he's now got Good's back! Takemura is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Good trying to control the action but Takemura just sinks the hooks in. #SUB# Takemura has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Good has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB# Good is trying to defend against the choke here but Takemura has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Takemura Tightens the hold and Good taps out furiously! Takemura displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Anstey thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#ROC#Shrute is rocked!#CUT#It looks like Dwight Shrute has been cut. Anstey ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Shrute is still on wobbly legs! Can Anstey finish him? Anstey connects with a superb combination that knocks Shrute out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Anstey before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Shrute!

King Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Watson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Watson lands with a hook. Tiramisu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watson dives in for a single leg takedown but Tiramisu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Tiramisu shoots in looking for a takedown. Watson tries to sprawl out of it but Tiramisu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Watson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tiramisu fails with an attempt to clinch.

#R1# Shrute has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Shrute there as he acknowledges the shot. Nice uppercut there from Anderson. Anderson lands an overhand right. Some wild striking there from Anderson.

Anderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Shrute, before circling back to the center of the mat. Anderson lands the left hand. Shrute changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Shrute manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Anderson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Nice uppercut there from Anderson.#ROC#Shrute is rocked! Shrute gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Shrute tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Anderson is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Shrute buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Shrute!! Shrute is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Anderson throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Franco lands with a nice combination. Shrute backs away looking to recover. A combination from Franco does no damage. Shrute avoids the head kick by Franco.
Franco lands a big head kick that sends Shrute to the canvas! Franco follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

A very excited looking Juan David Franco made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. Keegan Good seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Good lands a jab-cross combination. Good throws a hook to the side of Piekny's head but Piekny sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. And Piekny tries to counter it with a takedown but Good pushes his down on his head and steps out. Good can't find room to land a body shot as Piekny controls the action.

Long stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A shot in the inside from Long. Long lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lawson backwards. Lawson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Long lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lawson backwards. Long lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A body shot lands from Long.
Lawson is breathing heavily. Long lands a body shot. Long scores with a nice hook to the head. We've been hearing reports that Lawson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Long lands on the inside with an uppercut. Zuev lands with a cross. #KD# Zuev feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shrute sprawling to the canvas! Shrute rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Zuev finish him?!

Good shoots in but Weeks avoids the takedown attempt easily. It looked like Weeks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Good. Grady Weeks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keegan Good. Good on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
