#R1# Perry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes. Williams should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.#CL# Perry takes the fight into the clinch. Williams tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Perry smiles and moves away.
Williams throws a low kick but it's checked well by Perry. Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Perry, before circling back to the center of the mat.#CL# Perry gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams is pressed up against the cage. Perry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Williams down to the mat. Williams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. Perry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Perry is looking to counter the offense by Williams and move into the clinch. Perry goes for a double leg but Williams avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Williams continues to drive forward. Williams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perry walks away with a smile on his face. Williams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Williams shoots in for a takedown but Perry shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Perry tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Williams manages to circle out of the way. Perry fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perry works his way into full mount! Ryan Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryan Perry. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
