#R1# Van Heusen misses with a head kick.
Joseph swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Van Heusen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.#CUT#It looks like Nigel Van Heusen has been cut. Van Heusen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Joseph digs a good body shot into Van Heusen's ribs. Joseph thuds his right hand into Van Heusen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Joseph throws out a powerful jab. Joseph throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Van Heusen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Joseph avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Van Heusen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Charles Joseph has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigel Van Heusen. Van Heusen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Joseph pulls his leg out and moves away.

Van Heusen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Charles Joseph is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Joseph fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Heusen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Joseph connects with a single shot there. Joseph scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Joseph lands a nice shot that snaps Van Heusen's head back.

Van Heusen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Joseph is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Joseph lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Joseph throws a series of strikes that have Van Heusen backpedaling.
#CUT#The cut above Nigel Van Heusen's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Joseph lands with a straight right. Van Heusen didn't see that one coming. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Joseph takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.#KD# Joseph drops Van Heusen with a beautiful combination! Van Heusen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Joseph is looking for the KO!#ROC#Van Heusen is rocked!#CUT#Nigel Van Heusen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.#T4# Joseph is pawing at Van Heusen, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Van Heusen's nose. Van Heusen is badly hurt! Joseph pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Van Heusen tries desperately to hold on but Joseph is relentless in his assault! As Van Heusen receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Joseph away and this one is in the books!

#R1# Peterson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.#CL2# Carter rushes Peterson and presses him up against the cage. Carter stalling against the cage.
Carter effectively controlling the action here. Carter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Peterson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#BC2# Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Peterson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Peterson tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peterson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.
#T1# Peterson looks to land a right hand but Carter moved out of range. Peterson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Carter leaves Peterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Peterson blocks a head kick by Carter.

#TD# Peterson shoots in and gets a takedown into Carter's guard. Carter looking for a sweep. Not yet Carter, not yet. #ES2# The fighters are working up against the cage. Carter manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Carter has Peterson pressed against the cage, preventing Peterson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A frustrated look appears on Peterson's face as he tries to break the clinch. The referee calls for Carter to work.

Carter pulls Peterson in to control the position. Carter being controlled here, momentarily. Carter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peterson's guard. #REVB# The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Carter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Carter works a leg free and moves into half guard. Peterson wants to get back to full guard but Carter has mounted him!#T3##SUB2# Carter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Peterson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Peterson tries to hold on but Carter pushes him away. Peterson can't escape the position.
#SUB2# Carter is working for a guillotine from mount but Peterson frees his head quite easily.
#SUB2# Carter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
#T4# The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carter is stalling here but it's allowed Peterson to get half guard.

Peterson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carter is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carter stalling. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Peterson defends it nicely. Peterson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Carter. Peterson throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily. #CL2# Carter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Carter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Carter jumps guard but Peterson stands there with Carter around his waist. Carter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Peterson wants to stand and escape but instead Carter has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVB# Peterson pulls Carter in close to his closed guard and prevents Carter from doing any damage or advancing position.#T1# Peterson tries to land a sweep but no joy. #SUB# Peterson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Carter doesn't defend quickly enough and Peterson has managed to lock this one up! Can Carter escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Peterson on a fantastic submission victory.
