Donovan seems to be working for a kimura but Boyle defends the submission attempt.
Donovan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Boyle wants to get back to his feet.
Donovan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donovan lands with a punch from half guard.
Boyle has hold of Donovan's hands but Donovan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Donovan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boyle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Okropir goes for a double leg but Boyle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boyle continues to drive forward.
Boyle unleashes a big counter combination but Okropir bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Boyle tries to work over Okropir's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Okropir misses with some punches.
Boyle's coach down at Dynamic MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boyle's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Avery looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Avery tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gordon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Avery somewhat.
Avery throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gordon tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Avery stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Avery tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gordon defends well and Avery ends up having to push Gordon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devyn Avery. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oktawiusz Gogol.
