In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 4 losses; Smalliver Twist! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 5 losses; Gadzhimagomed Magomedov! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Twist fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Magomedov avoids it really well and circles away. Twist goes for a double leg but Magomedov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Magomedov continues to drive forward. Magomedov has Twist pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Twist manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. #TD2# Magomedov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Twist shoots for a takedown but Junior saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Junior half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Twist looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Horrible takedown attempt by Twist or perhaps it was just good defense by Junior, which made it look bad. Junior feinted with a counter takedown. Robinho Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smalliver Twist. The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Twist shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Junior but Junior pushes him off and we're back to square one. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Twist is defended easily by Junior.#TD# Junior looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roser trying to control the position from guard on top but Watched is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Roser passes into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roser wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watched keeps working. Roser is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.#T1# Roser has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Roser has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Roser with good strikes from the mount here! #R1# Sooklal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bear counters with an inside leg kick. Sooklal with a poor takedown and Bear counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Sooklal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bear counters with a left to the body. Shaggy Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deonarine Sooklal. Sooklal takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bear connects with a body shot. Sooklal looks winded! Bear throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bear throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sooklal stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Deonarine Sooklal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sooklal takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Bear scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sooklal needs to keep his hands up - Bear had a free shot at his head there.#CUT#It looks like Deonarine Sooklal has been cut. A nice leg kick lands there from Bear. Bear is looking to wear down Sooklal with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A shot to the liver by Bear. Sooklal takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Bear lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Sooklal head around and knocks him out cold! Bear hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
