In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Gabriel Lima! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 3 losses; Logan Potters! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Potters leaves Lima with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lima tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Potters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Lima wants to clinch up but Potters keeps it at a distance. Lima tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potters swats him away and circles back towards the center. #TD2# Potters looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Lima (0) vs (2) Potters We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB# Lima has his foot on Potters's thigh. He might have it! No, Lima has escaped the position, nice work there. #SUB2# Potters thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lima gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Lima is looking for a sweep. Potters is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.#T6# Potters not doing much here.

#R1# Stone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Stone moves to clinch but Junior breaks away and Junior counters with a stiff right hand. #TD2# Junior shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stone is trying to defend but Junior finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Junior content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. It looks like Junior might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Stone avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Junior. Stone is looking to improve his position.
Junior seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Let's hope that Junior has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Junior prevents Stone from improving his position.#T1# Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Junior in particular looking to stall. Stone tries to roll over but Junior keeps him under control. Junior is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Junior.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Junior is nestled in close to Stone, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#SUB2# Junior seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Stone is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

#R1# King shoots in for a takedown but Clark shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Clark cracks a nice hook into King's ribs. Clark throws a right hand that King ducks under and follows up with a left that King also avoids with ease. Clark ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Clark stuns King with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Clark cracks King with an open hand slap. King closes the distance but Clark moves to the side and Clark counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. King has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Clark. Clark keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from King. Clark is clearly trying to counter these attacks from King with a body shot. King takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Clark clobbers King with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. #CUT2#It looks like Markus King has been cut. Clark with a body punch. A glancing blow. #T1# Clark lands a jab to the head.

King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. King walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! King takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. King seems to have got his legs back now. King on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Clark fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Clark scores with a leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. King takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
#KD2# Clark sends King crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Clark is motioning to the referee to let King up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! King leaves his chin hanging out and Clark seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! King crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

#R1# Hodge throws out a powerful jab.#CUT2#It looks like Eduardo Matador has been cut. Matador fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hodge. Matador avoids the body shot from Hodge.
Hodge drops Matador with a straight right hand, right on the button! Hodge follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slade Hodge! After the fight, Slade Hodge was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |

#TD# Newman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Magyar to the mat! Magyar manages to get full guard. Newman stays in close to Magyar's body and controls the position. Newman advances position into side control! Magyar wants to control but Newman postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Newman in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Newman happy to just control the position for now. Magyar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The strikes coming from Newman are missing the target in this wave of attacks. #T1# Newman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Magyar gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magyar reaches up to try and control the position but Newman seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Magyar rolls and tries to escape and now Newman has his back!
You can see the frustration on Magyar's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

#R1# Conley looks for the body kick but Beasley saw that one coming. Beasley tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Conley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A swing and a miss from Conley. Beasley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Conley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nice shot lands for Beasley. Beasley lands a nice shot that snaps Conley's head back.

God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Conley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Beasley gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Beasley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Boone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gibbs is looking to take a break and control but Boone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
