Allen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#TD# Van gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Allen controls the pace. Van wants to improve his position but instead Allen has moved into half guard.
Van tries to get to full guard but Allen has control of the leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Allen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. #SU# Allen decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. #T1# A punch combination from Allen misses. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Polsgomadov. Nasirmadov Polsgomadov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Polsgomadov shoots for a takedown but Carpenter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jacob Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now.
