#R1# Mabab avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mountain scoring well with a low kick there.
We've been told by Mountain's head coaches at Freaky Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Mountain lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A looping hook to the body misses from Mountain. Mabab does a little dance to reset his feet. Mabab walks into a straight right hand from Mountain. Mountain throws a looping overhand right but Mabab ducks down to avoid it. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mabab has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Mountain drops Mabab with a straight right hand, right on the button! Mountain follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ayers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ayers controlling from the top position. Baetens wants to stand and escape but Ayers is having none of it. Ayers throwing strikes but missing. Baetens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Baetens looking for a sweep. Not yet Baetens, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ayers content to stall in guard here. Ayers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baetens swivels though and keeps the full guard. #T1# Baetens wants to sweep but no luck. Ayers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #SUB# Baetens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
