Man wants to stand but Lofton has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lofton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Man preventing the sweep. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lofton is on top in guard.
#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lofton stopping the sweep attempt from Man. Lofton is looking to work some ground and pound but Man has wrist control. Man keeping moving, preventing Lofton from controlling successfully. #T1# Man controls Lofton momentarily but Lofton frees himself. Man has a closed guard, preventing Lofton from standing up. Man is striking off his back. Lofton thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Man tries to get to full guard but Lofton has control of the leg. Lofton with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Man trying to hold on to Lofton's head to control him but Lofton postures up.
Man pushes Lofton off looking to stand but Lofton dives back in and keeps control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lofton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Man keeps the fight on the outside. Man doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Man fails with the takedown. Man tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lofton defends well and Man ends up having to push Lofton into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.#CL# Lofton has closed the distance and engaged Man in a clinch.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lofton has control of Man's left arm, preventing Man from doing any damage. Lofton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR##SU# Lofton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Lofton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Man. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lofton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Man circles away. Man swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Man throws a sloppy head kick and Lofton moves out of range easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Man shoots for a double leg takedown but Lofton sprawls well. He's pushed Man's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
