#R1# Yurchon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Yurchon lands a jab to the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Yurchon misses the target. Menchikov tries to counter by closing the distance. Yurchon scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Menchikov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Yurchon, as that shot connected.
Yurchon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Menchikov.
Yurchon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yurchon throws a looping overhand right but Menchikov ducks down to avoid it. Nice takedown defense from Yurchon. No joy for Menchikov on that attempt. Menchikov shoots for a takedown but Yurchon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A slow jab from Yurchon misses its intended target. Menchikov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Menchikov moves out of range of the strikes. Menchikov fails with the takedown. Yurcho Yurchon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexei Menchikov. No luck with that takedown attempt from Menchikov. Menchikov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yurchon sprawls well. Yurchon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Menchikov gets slowly back to his feet.#T1# Yurchon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yurchon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Menchikov throws a head kick but Yurchon moves out of range.

Menchikov looks winded! Menchikov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A looping hook to the body misses from Yurchon. Menchikov does a little dance to reset his feet. Yurchon connects with a good right hand that stumbles Menchikov. Menchikov circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Yurchon lands a nice looking body shot.
Yurchon stuns Menchikov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Menchikov moves out of range of the strikes. Menchikov unleashes a big counter combination but Yurchon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Yurchon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yurchon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yurchon pounces like a tiger and cracks Menchikov with a vicious hook! Menchikov is down but not out! Yurchon follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Yurcho Yurchon! A relieved looking Yurcho Yurchon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |

#R1##CL# Romanoff moves into the clinch. Kataski jumps guard but Romanoff stands there with Kataski around his waist. Kataski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
#TD# Romanoff has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kataski uses from the top position. #SUB# Romanoff is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kataski defends well. Romanoff keeping moving, preventing Kataski from controlling successfully. Romanoff working a defensive guard here.
Kataski postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kataski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kataski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kataski throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Romanoff works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kataski controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kataski working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kataski stands up over Romanoff, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kataski controlling from the top position. Romanoff knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. Kataski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kataski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
