Sooklal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Scott lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. #R1# Horrible takedown attempt by Hoffmann or perhaps it was just good defense by Villegas, which made it look bad. Villegas throws a hook but Hoffmann blocks it. Villegas jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hoffmann shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Villegas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Leon Hoffmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoffmann takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hoffmann gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Villegas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Hoffmann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hoffmann drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hoffmann tries for a takedown but Villegas circles away easily enabling Villegas to counter with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoffmann shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Villegas sprawls well. Villegas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hoffmann gets slowly back to his feet. Sooklal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Melamed walks away with a smile on his face. Sooklal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL# Melamed closes the distance and clinches. A shot in the inside from Melamed. Melamed lands an elbow just above Sooklal 's eye. #CUT#It looks like Veonarine Sooklal has been cut. Melamed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Melamed lands an elbow inside. Melamed lands with a left to the head. Sooklal is working for takedown but Melamed is calmly controlling the position for now. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#KD# Waleboo feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sooklal sprawling to the canvas! Sooklal rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Waleboo finish him?!
