He's pushed Irish's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Powers ducks under a wild hook from Irish. Irish takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Hogan's coach down at Copes was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hogan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Dawa lands an elbow inside. #CUT#It looks like Kamari Hogan has been cut. Hogan lands a shoulder strike. #BC# Dawa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Yang tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mullins tries to pull guard but Yang won't allow it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Whacker lands with a punch from half guard. Still in half guard, Whacker seems content to control. Whacker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Whacker not doing much here.

We've heard reports from his gym mates at WOVA Performance Institute that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Ximenes is trying to keep Kriss in close.

We've been told by Decker's head coaches at Special Ops N7 Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Decker scores with a nice head shot. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Flowers has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Flowers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Decker as he avoids it easily. #CL# Decker gets a clinch. Nice body punch from Decker. Nice elbow from Decker. Flowers working some nice short punches in the clinch. Decker lands with a right to the head. Flowers pressing his opponent against the cage.
